Maple and AERO S’mores

Maple and AERO S’mores

I'll admit it. I'm the biggest chocoholic. I think it started when I was a kid and after my Friday piano lessons, my mom used to take me to this little bakery near by where they had the best chocolate cake I've had in my life. Isn't it something  how we can recall memories like these? Those evenings were magic.

I’ll admit it. I’m the biggest chocoholic. I think it started when I was a kid and after my Friday piano lessons, my mom used to take me to this little bakery nearby where they had the best chocolate cake I’ve had in my life. Isn’t it something  how we can recall memories like these? Those evenings were magic.

You know how they say like mother like daughter? When it comes to who’s the biggest chocolate lover in our home, Gaby takes the award. It’s always been her go to flavour for ice cream (Rocky road for the win!) for her birthday cake, and no other candy on Halloween will top mini chocolate bars. But once summer comes, the real treat is S’mores.

Yesterday was national s’mores day so we celebrated by making them with the biggest marshmallows we could find, and the girls favourite, AERO Milk chocolate bubble bars. There’s something we all love about that melt in your mouth feeling that the bubbles have and as we hadn’t tried the mint and white chocolate flavours, we decided it was about time. It got  even better, once we put them in our s’mores.

For this recipe I used a bit of Maple syrup on the marshmallows before roasting them. Last summer, I tried a maple marshmallow ice cream and it was kinda love at first sight, so I had to recreate that flavour for our s’mores and I’m so glad I did! It gave the marshmallows such a pretty golden brown tone and deep flavour, I don’t think I’ll go back roasting them any other way.

We also got a Salton s’mores maker and roasted them at home, no camping or open fire required. What makes me think that we might make S’mores night a bit of a thing once in awhile as it was so easy to use.

If you ask me what my favourite flavour was. I would have to say the Aero white chocolate is the real MVP 🙂 those white chocolate bubbles are everything and the melt in your mouth feeling is strong. Check out the recipe below, and enjoy them this weekend!

Maple And AERO S’mores

Total Time

Ingredients

  • 10 individual Graham wafers squares
  • 5 marshmallows (the bigger the better!)
  • 3 AERO Milk Chocolate bubble bars
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Directions

Pour the marshmallows on a plate and drizzle them with maple syrup.

Separate the AERO Milk chocolate bubble bar in 2 and set aside.

Place graham wafers in a lined baking sheet and roast the marshmallows in a open fire for 1 minute, or you can use these two alternate methods below:

Use this s’mores maker and roast them for 2 minutes, or line a baking sheet with parchment paper and broil the marshmallows for 60 to 90 seconds or until golden. Place half an Aero bar on top of one graham wafer, top with one marshmallow, cap with another wafer. Get messy and keep enjoying the summer!
