KEEPING UP WITH @DIALASKITCHEN ON INSTAGRAM

Most days, the girls and I love to start our day with a bowl of oatmeal. Today, I've topped mine with juicy blueberries and pomegranate seeds, peanut butter and a bit of nougat tahini, caramelized bananas, chia seeds, and hemp hearts. Because breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day🤗

Unfortunately, not every child in Canada goes to school having had breakfast. Which is why initiatives like Toonies for Tummies are so important.⁣
@sobeys has been helping this program through donations to raise funds for school-based student nutrition programs across Ontario and Western Canada.⁣

Kids that don't have access to a nutritious breakfast may not only lack concentration in school, but it could also affect their mental performance, alertness, and memory. And with only $2, you will be providing the necessary funds to The Grocery Foundation to supply children with meals every day.⁣

The other day I laid in bed with a face mask on and a book. I read for an hour and I couldn't believe how something so simple felt SO good. And how much I needed that. The stillness. The slowing down. It made me realize that I actively need to make time for moments like that. ⁣

We are so used to live in a constant state of running around with a never ending to-do list, that it's simply not sustainable. And eventhough those things still need to get done, we can't forget that if we don't take time for ourselves, our body will remind us. ⁣
⁣
So this weekend, I plan to do more of that. More reading (currently finishing @karmakbrown latest) and bookmarking a few recipes from @gabrielacamara 's My Mexico City Kitchen and @chefeinat's Shuk. ⁣

I couldn't imagine starting the day without breakfast. From waffles to Dutch Baby Pancakes, making breakfast for my girls is one of the things that brings me the most joy in life. ✨ DULCE DE LECHE CHEESECAKE ✨
Utterly creamy, with hints of vanilla bean and topped with a decadent caramel sauce. It's my go-to Cheesecake recipe ever since I tried it via my friend @yogaofcooking who by the way, is a baking queen.
Top it with berries and a few flakes of Maldon, or maybe caramelized bananas and pecans? Either way, you'll love it!
